About Folders on the Server Side of AceFTP
---------

Each folder will contain the ".htm" file (re-named "index.html") and the associated graphics.
---------
On server side, double click the folder of page that you want to edit,
and the files and folders of that page will snap open.
You'll build a network of pages as you learn
to make folders in the server side window.
---------
FOLDER NAMES read exactly as they do
in the actual URL (Uniform Resource Locater).

URL is just an Internet term for the address of a web page.
The FOLDER NAMES you see on the server side
of AceFTP are actually web pages!
---------
CREATE NEW FOLDERS BY:

Click the create new folder button,
name the folder, and hit enter key
to complete the renaming.
Double click the new folder and you'll see
it's empty and ready for website files to be FTP'd into it.
---------
Have fun...be creative naming the folders.
Remember - they appear in the website address!
You create your entire network of pages with these folders.
---------
Create a few test folders.
Insert capital letters and underspace characters
in the names here and there to experiment.
Example: "My_Photo_Gallery"
That URL will look like this:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/My_Photo_Gallery

A folder named "Favorite_Fauna" on the server side will appear this way in the URL:
http://www.yourserver.com/Favorite_Fauna
If you attempt to open that website
and do not capitalize the "F's" in "Favorite" and "Fauna",
or if you omit the under_space character, the website will not open!
This is a great way to protect a website (folder) from the general public!
Add irregular capiTals and under_score spaces
to create folders like this:
Our_peTs_phOtO_gAlleRy
yAb_Ba_YAbba
eMail or telephone these web addresses to distant relatives.
---------
Troubleshooting your webpages:
---------
TEST the URLs you create in IExplorer while on the Net.
When you view a site you just created,
and the photos aren't there, or the text looks weird....do you know why?
It's easy to leave part of a tag out!
Make sure you FTP the ".htm" file and re-name it "index.html".
Did you FTP the photos/art?!
If a photo doesn't show, you'll learn to go right to the img src tag to correct it.
Is the image file in the img src tag spelled EXACTLY as the actual .jpg or .gif??!!
And...of course,
the .htm file (re-named index.html)
needs to be in the same folder as the graphics!

Mistakes in simple HTML are easy to find...just open the page in IE and "View">"Source".
