This is a grassroots, entry level tutorial.
You don't need any special web design software.
Your browser's View>Source command will open Windows Notepad,
and Notepad is all you need for your web pages.
This gives you total control over the editing process.
You won't have to buy, or learn how to use, any complicated software.
However...one of the thrills associated with creating web pages is graphics.
You'll wanna get yer hands on graphics programs soon!
There's a link to a great FREE graphics program
on the last page of the tutorial in the "A Brief Note on Software" section.
Of course, you will eventually want a digital camera.

An understanding of FOLDERS and FILES,
as well as the ability to:

|-------------------------|Select text characters by clicking and dragging the mouse in Notepad.
|-------------------------------|Copy and Paste.


This tutorial covers the 2 basic capabilities
you need as a webauthor:
1 - How to publish as much text as you, or anyone else, can stand.
2 - How to publish those digital cam photographs / art.
The first half of this tutorial explains how to create and edit
a simple web page on your home computer with your browser.
The second half explains how to publish it on the Net with a simple FTP program.
